Helping Searchability become a
Sunday Times Top 100 Employer

As part of The Searchability Group, we have had a strong focus on our own internal employer brand and over the years we have invested into a strategic approach to discovering, shaping and promoting this. Our efforts were recognised in 2020, as the brand was recognised in the top 20 "Best Small Companies to Work for in the UK" by The Sunday Times and Best Companies.

The challenge:

Having invested in creating an attractive proposition for employees over the years, The Searchability Group lacked structure in the way we defined and understood our employer brand. We needed to build an employer brand architecture, define our EVP, rediscover our core value and develop a presence to attract candidates directly and reduce the brands reliance upon rec2rec agencies.

A snapshot of what we did:

As part of the qualification with Employer Brand International, our Founder Sophie underwent an employer brand strategic audit in 2016 to discover the authentic employer brand, build an employer brand architecture and research our EVP.

As we grew we continually assessed our employer brand, and continued to measure our engagement levels. this involved listening and learning from our people to develop our offering as an employer.

Listening to feedback from our people, we implemented key internal changes from the top down, led by one core value - to Be Sound (learn more here)

We understood that social interactions were a key driver in employee engagement and making meaningful connections between the team, so we created a unique monthly team celebration called #FirstFriday - delivering unique experiences for the team on the first Friday of each month.

Once our employer brand was defined we created a series of content to highlight and showcase this externally, including blog and video content, and an employee advocacy program that encouraged our people to share employee generated content too.

We built out a bespoke JobHoller careers hub that integrated with a personalised applicant tracking system to enable management of the candidate experience for all live vacancies, as well as a talent pool function to capture candidate details also.

The Outcome (3 month campaign):
